How Long Is a UK ETA Valid?
A UK ETA is valid for two years from the date of issue, or until your passport expires — whichever comes first. During this period, you can use it for multiple visits to the UK without reapplying.
Multiple Entry: Yes, You Can Visit More Than Once
The UK ETA is a multiple-entry authorisation. This means you can enter and leave the UK as many times as you want during the validity period. Each visit can last up to six months, though immigration officers may question the purpose of very frequent or very long stays.
When Does It Expire?
Your ETA expires on the earliest of these dates:
- Two years from issue: The standard validity period
- Passport expiry: If your passport expires before the two-year mark, your ETA expires with it

What Happens If My Passport Expires?
Your ETA is linked to your specific passport. If you renew your passport, you will need to apply for a new ETA linked to your new passport, even if your previous ETA has not reached its two-year expiry. The old ETA cannot be transferred.

No. As long as your ETA is still valid and linked to the passport you are travelling with, you do not need to reapply for each visit. Simply travel with the same passport used in your ETA application.
